nice looking box rabbit.

quick question, how did you keep the MDF from splitting? when i made my first box, i predrilled all my holes, with the right size bit, and the screw closest to the corners always split the wood...

If it splits you are to close to the edge or the drill bit is not long/wide enough. Just do some test pieces and play around with a few bits and placement. You will get it quickly. I still get a split every now and then. When you do as many boxes as I do in a week it happens from time to time. Just make sure you take the screw out, fill with wood glue and then clamp it back together and then make a new whole.

Not really, screws provide more torque so if when you put the enclosure to gether while its still wet(the glue) the screws provide a better way for it to bond over nails/clamps.

Basically,

Nails/clamps is a bit weaker then screws/clamps....

i agree screw will torque it down, but nails pounded in with a nail gun wont hold it well enough for the glue to try?

It does, just a little weaker is all.
