Elemental design

I'm getting 2 15" K-Series, dual 4 ohm, so i can wire it down to 1 ohm. i plan on using the RE amp which puts out 1580W RMS @ 1 ohm. and while the site says that they can handle 400W RMS, in reality, they can handle a lot more, like 1000W RMS each. with the RE amp, they will each be getting about 800W RMS, which i consider to be just about perfect. plus they're amp isn't that expensive, about $369 shipped is what they told me. hope that helps:)

ummm watch your subs CAREFULLY

Ben won't warranty subs seeing taht much power (if thats why they blow..) it has to do with box size..

they will only hold hta tmuch power ina SMALL sealed box..

and I do mean SMALL.

everyday, 600 watts in a normal sized sealed box is still tough on the driver, talk to Ben...

so are u saying that 800W RMS per sub is too much? everybody that i've talked to said that that would be fine. i mean, i'm not trying to offend u or anything, but i don't wanna buy the re amp if it's going to blow them. oh, and i plan on going about 7 cu ft ported.

so now u guys are confusing me because the site says they handle 400 watts rms and some one on here says like 1000 wich i think is way out of line but anyways so how much can they handle rms?

ugh...

folks.. unless you fall into one of these 2 categories:

1. COMPETITOR

2. EXPERIENCED ENOUGH

then you have zero reason to ever put anything over 600 watts RMS into ANY K series driver..

with an experienced, and careful person on the controls.. the K's will take large amounts of power. If you're Bob nobody and you still haven't figured out how to turn the radio down.. save your time.. and Ben's (because he warrants drivers regardless of how dumb you were with it) and just run 4-600 watts rms a driver..

If you have more specific questions regarding the K series line.. please email me at: LoydL@edesignaudio.com

and please excuse my mean sounding undertone.. I'm just tired of seeing people speading information around that anyone can put 800-1000 watts on a $120-$145 entry level driver.... 600 watts is truly all you'll need.. they do excellent with the power

just agreeing with loyd on this post. with a 7.0 cubic foot box, ur gonna have to be really careful with 800 watts going to each. best bet would be to give it 400 watts since thats the "recommended" rms for those subs by elemental, but if ur a power fiend, then 600 is good.... but if this is ur first set up, then i wouldnt try 800 each.

what if you threw it into a forrest fire?:p //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif lol jk!!!

lol now i know why loyd get's frustrated when he talks to me on AOL sometimes it's stuff like that. plus that RE amp that's rated at 1580 i've heard from RE can do closer to 1700 and up at 1ohm mono am i right?? anyway i'd get something like a jbl600.1 and dual 2ohm configuration be happy with that 300rms per driver at 2ohm.

adam

right then, so i'll probably end up using the nine.1 instead now, even though i like re's amp so much better. plus if i get the nine.1, i'm going to have to get a separate crossover seeing as how the nine.1 has a pathetic 12db/octave, worthwhile only in a sealed box.

12 db per octive isnt bad at all most of the "popular" amps have this and as long as you are not driving it an octive above what it can run 12 db is pretty good and if you were running it that high id be asking you what were you actually using for you subs..lol if you dont catch on to what im saying re read it and it should make sense lol
