here i go. i plan to eventually be runnin about 3000 watts into my subs. i want to be able to keep it at or at least close to 14v to get max out of the amps. so i have several questions:

what alt? like 200 amp or 300 amp

Big 3: 0 gauge or 2/0?

Batteries: i was thinkin about getting a yellow top but i heard there were better ones out there for the same price. And would i need one or two extra to keep it up at 14v?

and i have kicker 0 gauge hyperflex so would that be enough to handle 3000w?

thanks for any help.

EDIT: DAILY DRIVER

is this car a daily driver?

A 300A alternator may no hold up to daily driving. With only 3000w you can make your stock alternator work or upgrade to a 180A or 200A. 250A is usually the max for daily cars.

why doesn't a 300a not hold up for a daily driving? and yes it is daily driver

a 300 amp can get very hot as most are designed for a certain RPM range and daily driving can make a it spin very fast and get very hot.

There are good reliable 300A alternators out there, and some are liquid cooled. But they can get very expensive and they are rare. Some may cost in excess of $800 when you can just get a good 200A that will do all that you need it to for $250-$400
