Electrical Question

So I have 2 dual 4 ohm SX's that will be powered by an orion 2500d at 1 ohm (2500 Rms)......and 2 pairs of components that will be powered by my 4 channel audiobahn amp (600 RMS)......i will be getting a new 200 amp alt for my car b4 install but i have a couple questions first.....first of all, will my 200 amp alt be enough to power my system?....i would rather just spend the extra money now to go larger than ordering that and finding out its not enough and having to scrap it and buy a whole new HO alt.....i will mostly justbe listenin to my system with the car on so i dont think i will want extra batteries, but i dunno...also, what size wiring should i use to wire my amps and subs?.....i think the orion manual says to use dual 4ga but ive seen some people talkin about havin to use 0 ga or even 00 ga to get all the power out of it....any feedback will be appreciated...thanx

i chose to go with a 250 amp alt for my orion 2500D. i'm running a 2nd battery in the trunk, but you can run 1/0 guage wire to a distro block then 4 guage to the orion. also make sure to do the big 3.

do ya think with the 250 amp alt i would need a second battery?....id rather not have one since i would almost never be listening with the car off

no you wouldn't need one. i just did for the hell of it really.

alright thanx for the info.....i guess i'll see how much nathan will charge for that....anyone know about how long it takes to get an alt from him?......it seems like some people were waitin g months who did the group buy....is this normal or just because he had so many to do?

i ordered mine in the group buy and took 3-4 weeks. you also got to remember that he hand builds these when he gets your order and when he has so many orders, like with the group buy, it takes a little time but i only waited about 3 weeks. i ended up paying $300 shipped for my 250 amp in the group buy, so it'll run about $350-375 i would say depending on car, for a 250 amp.
