Have you had any problem with the stepdown not stepping the voltage down the 3.6v it says?

I undersand the sceptiscism, but I havn't always been a Powermaster dealer you know....
I challenge anyone to run a daily driven vehicle with ANY 3 post lead acid battery and a 16V charging system of 150 amps or more, and watch what happens to that 3 post battery. This is not brand-quality discussion, it is a discussion of physics. The extra cell 3 post design simply cannot work in this type of system.

P.S., even when a 3 post is used "properly" the voltage across the 12 V posts is only 12.5 volts when the input charge voltage to the 16 V posts is 18.0V. (which means everything running off the 12V post is lazy as hell) Once again, I'm not bashing a brand or product, this is simply from personal expierience, and I can gaurantee that the exact same thing will happen in any other vehicle set up the same way.

just saying i have only heard this from 3 screen names and all have an association with what they market and or sell. If they "blew up" one would think that someone outside of this association would have had difficulty and would have said something??? alot of the guys that use kinetik in competion have used it for 2+ years while powering the 12v necessities of the vehicle scott owens, neil barber, erik hoss, kyle, doc, scott van ryper, bruce ogdon, jimbo, robert kollar, steve cook all use them plus probably a few thousand are in use by others. my comment about the diode was just about how a diode goes out. generally speaking of diodes i am familar with they still conduct electricity it just loses its ability to become a 1 way valve. in any event if i were to go 16v for daily i would use 2 alts..1 normal the other 18v.

Sure, they might work on a competition vehicle's .2 mile round trip from the car trailer to the lanes and back, but how many 3 posts are in use on a daily driven vehicle with a 16V alternator?

BTW, Steve Cook runs Powermasters in his daily driven demo vehicle.
