electrical for sundown amps

this is my planned setup. im waiting on a reply on a price quote for the following sundown amps-

2x 3000ds

2x 100.2s

1x 100.4

basically 1 3000d per 18" MT @ 1 ohm per amp.

1 100.2 per front door (8 mids per door) both amps running each channel @ 2 ohm

and the 100.4 is for all the tweeters, running i think the overall load will be like 2.4-3 ohms (my tweets are 3 ohm each so its weird)

now its for the mini cooper so i cant give up that much weight, but im trying to decide...you think maybe three of the biggest batts would work (im thinkin powermaster d3100s) and lots of 1/0 (eventually an alt upgrade when i can find a good price on someone to custom make one for me)?

Get the alt and the wire first The price of one of those 3000Ds should cover that. Then go with what you have and get the other one later. One of those should be more than enough for the Cooper starting out.

alt and at least 2 of the biggest batteries most likely. That is a lot of power your talking about.

x2, even though the sundowns are quite efficient, thats still alot of power your trying to make. I would not consider trying it unless you got a alt.

It may be possible with what you mention, but honestly, I wouldnt try it like that.

Nice choice in amps though,//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsup.gif.3287b36ca96645a13a43aff531f37f02.gif

well i dont sit there and beat on it and i do have a volt meter as to monitor it.

i had a powerbass xa3000d @ 1 ohm and at full tilt on ONE 2400 for the whole car (i just replaced the stock batt with a 2400) the voltage wouldnt go below 12v even at idle. that was with a MA audio 600w 2ch amp too.

i have 25 feet of kicker 1/0 and about 80 feet of 1/0 welding wire.

One would be best for daily and run the second for competitions until you have your voltage more stable.. Maybe strapping them at a higher load, because running 2 of those at full power will tax any alt. I want a second one which i was going to run on my factory alt, but i had 3 decent batterys and my stock was 150 amps.. They're incredibly efficient but 2 of them is a ton of power

i may actually run 1 for now @ .5 and see how it is for daily. when i get 2, i want to strap them @ 2 ohm so each amp sees around a 1 ohm load.

You're running 18s and 3kw on each and you're worried about the weight of the batteries?
lol..and in a min cooper none the less. That car probably has no pep left after all this extra weight.

right now with just the box in its fine but i know when i add the subs/amps/batts its gonna kill! lol.

oh well, no different than all the other cars out there that load their cars with weight, im not into racing or AutoX or any of that crap so i dont care about speed

^^I wasn't giving you shit bro. I give you props for being original. I don't know too many people that would try to cram all that equipment into a mini //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
