Drifting RC's ?

I think the shelfliner I used was too new and puffy.
What's your take on that?

Could have been , it would have been farther away from the surface so the weave effect wouldn't stand out as much. I found this plastic mat at wally world that is made of plastic instead of rubber . I get a lot better results with it as opposed to the rubber stuff. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

mine was brand new and puffy, i had to cut releif cuts in it so it would conform well to the shape of the body and then i just pushed it into the lexan hard and it stuck. to make it look good though you NEED to use shading with a transparent paint before the charcol and the silver

i used transparent smoke its called, i also used it on the silve routline of the flames notice u cant see the outline at the tip of the body but gets more dominat as it goes out. the reds int he flames are also transparent and there i transparent blue in the blue but you cant see it all that well in the pictures

I'm a firm believer in using a darker shade of the color your using for shading. Black shadows like a lot of people use looks out of place to me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

yup i like color shading, only sometimes black looks god but a lot of the time it looks out of place

any of you guys seen a stock savage radio box? i vacuum formed a new lid out of plexi

Google 'Color Buffer Theory' for great info on colorshading and white chroma.

Could you post a pic of the vinyl mat you found at WW?

I remember the vacuform tutorial you posted for that, it roxed. I think I +repped you for it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I'm not painting anything inside out, so it's aluminum basecoat, then transparent black through the mat for me; Maybe I should try backwards?

only way i have done the cf is backwards so maybe try it that way? i did silver then charcol, less silver more charcol //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

if you wanna do it regular ways make the charcol base coat, then spray the silver because it will only make little squars

you dont need a vacuum forming machine man you can do it in your kitchen i did //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

No thanks , got a tc3, ntc3, and a evo that are collecting dust since they shut down the only local on road track two years ago //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Yeah, in retrospect I should've gone with a buggy too. You're so right; There's nowhere to drive the touring cars. They ride sooooo low to the round, one little pebble, stick, even a beetle //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif And you're airborne, or have damaged gears.

Ramos; I'd really appreciate it man, thanks!

I wish I had a vinyl plotter. Or a CNC lathe. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Yes sir , it's amazing how far in the air, a little car that sits a 1/4" off the ground can get when it hit's a pebble at 60-70mph //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
