Drift Car Racing: Clearly Dominate Car?

sr's are good for drifting, ka's are good drag motors. you can make more power with a ka to. my friends has 500+hp. AE86's are hard to drift, i had one with everything done. they take speed to keep sideways. my 240 was way easier and the reason why people choose 240's is cause there cheap. if i were to build a drift car, itd be a sc300 with a 1jz. i can drift my awd audi since i have about 400hp lol

240sx with an sr20det swap is probably the single most popular drift car, next in line are the pre 93supras, and the older rx7's and the drifters love the old AE86 corollas...... you don't want too short of a wheelbase because a short wheelbase makes it tough to keep the back end from sliding completely around, however too long and it can be difficult to manuever and get the back end to stay out when you want it to. contrary to popular belief it doesnt take alot of horsepower to drift.
you can drift 2 ways for the most part with alot of varients

the more popular less power less money way is to slow down and as come into the turn, grab the hand brake to get the car sideways and at the same time pop the clutch and control your drift with the throttle

the other way is how your buddy in the GTO was doing it, when you literally have enough power you can just break them loose on a whim at any speed, basically you pop the clutch instead of pulling the handbrake... and carry it all the way thru the turn. hope that helped.
theirs more then 2 ways to enter a drift fyi.

ae86 is my all time fav drift car. but its always fun to watch insane horsepower do some pretty monster drifts.

find yourself an old pick up truck, with a big block put junk yard tires on it, and wait for it to snow, its been working for me since i was 15, and im the DK where im from, go wisconsin!!! and what kind of budget do you even have to spend on a car, (or truck)

one of the best starter drifters 85-87 toyota corolla....cheap if you can find one, be careful though, some people actually know the value of these cars. but it's something relatively cheap and you can learn in without really worrying about damaging it.

no, ae86's aren't the best to learn on. they are harder to drift and u need to go alot faster to drift them, as they dont have the power. ive owned a few of both and the 240 is cheaper and way better to drift for a noob

never said they were the best to learn on, I said they are some of the best starter drift cars. it would be easy to learn on, IMO, and there wouldn't be much worry about damaging the car.
