Im no good at designing boxes but RAM_designs on here will do you up real nice for 10 bucks. also there are guys that know more about what the arggggs like than I do. but if youre impatient that box will work.

why the seperate chambers? every time i see these needing a box, they make about 2.25 cu. for each sub. make the box a single chamber don't need the divider. why are you so stuck on trying to run 4ohm? these subs can handle about 750 each so getting an amp like the mb quart 1500.1, and running these at 1ohm, would be perfect for these.

chances are that a lot of the people that were over powering them we also clipping them which caused heat to build up and burnt up the speakers

You'd be better off getting a 1ohm stable amp that'll give you the power you need, and then building a ported box for those subs. Type-R's love ported boxes, I don't know who told you differently. You wil notice a large gain in output.

You definitely need to build a new box if going ported, you don't have the right air space to even use external ports. 3.66ft^3 before subs/bracing...you're probably at ~3.4ft^3 as it sits right now.

go thru threads on here and read up. before i came here i didn't know what the hell clipping was or never heard of it. something i learned on here from just reading threads was, you can still f up any sub by even running 100watts to it. cause most likely you'll have everything turned up 100% and sending a clipped signal to it. it snot cause the speaker can't handle it.
