back again. And just wondering why my two alpines type rs 1242(500rms each) arent quite cutting it. I have a 1000 watt Alpine amp, but its running off 4 ohms cause the speakers are 4 ohms and so its only getting 600 or so in each driver. My box is 14x14x42 sealed. What can i do to get more Explosiveness outa these subs. or are they just not built for BOOM....

Model number of your amp? It's a bit hard to take a 1K amp, wire at 4 ohms and get 600watts per driver. R's can get loud, but to start off, they need proper power and a proper box, neither of which you seem to have at the moment.

Well the amp is an alpine M1000, 1000x1 at 2ohms and 675x1 at 4ohms. I got two 1242 Alpines at 500rms. And they box, i attempted to do the math by myself. i looked online and **** to figure out my size

it puts out 675x1 @ 4 ohms. So each sub is seeing probably about 300 watts.

If you have 1 amp, and two subs with a final ohm load of 4, they are getting roughly 335rms each.

Yeah but theyre acting like there getting over powered and start to distort. When i turn the bass up i have to keep it low else i feel like they will blow up. lol

My box is big, 14x14x42. is 3.2cube inch or a lilttle higher...

Hmmm... Are those Dual 2s? or Dual 4s?

... I'm still tryna figure out WHY IN THE HELL you are running @ 4 ohm?

Plus - you need to port that box... you have enough box for it...
