I'm not a hippie, but I do believe that it is our responsibility to treat the world that we live in the best we can. Is has only taken a 100 years to trash a planet that has been around for billions of years, yet people are still acting like everything is ok.

Honestly, the planet will recover. We won't. I'm quite convinced everyone is better off without humans, so I'm alright with a speedy decline of the human race at the hands of our own destruction.

There isn't enough oil owned by the US to make a meaningful impact on the price anyways, especially long-term. If the goal is to pay less, then the solution is buying less.

There is enough oil in the U.S / Alaska for many life times. Please get your facts straight and stop listening to the government that twists facts. Thanks!

It gives us the means to get to an end...which is alternative fuels.

Should we just stop producing oil today and hope magically that we find a way to get by until a viable, mass deployed alternative becomes convenient for the consumer? You can wish for shit, thats fine and dandy, but in the real world you have to **** it up a little to get where you want to go.
