There isn't enough oil owned by the US to make a meaningful impact on the price anyways, especially long-term. If the goal is to pay less, then the solution is buying less.
while i agree, we need to become less dependent on foreign oil - the real long term solution comes from alternate energy sources - start a petition that demands solutions to the promises made by politicians to provide those energy sources.

Hello Canada. Give me your oil.
Yup, and the province of Alberta is one of the largest producers and exporters of oil and natural gas in the world. Still, they are paying ~$5/gallon.Canada holds the world's second-largest oil reserves. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

So tell me again how drilling the US's limited oil quantities will lower gas prices?
It would be actually smarter if the US held on to their reserves because as other oil reserves are drying up, they would still have some of that precious black gold.
Good to hear something good has come from that dam treaty.Of course you want to invade Canada. We have more uninhabited land, more wood, more fresh water, more oil, etc. Mind you, the US has already used NAFTA to its advantage to take many of these resources freely without recourse.....
He did not, but the jeep did.WTF?!? Did Tappin die?
