Ok, so I'll admit it was 50 years before Canada was an official country, but taken from the wikipedia page on the war of 1812 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/War_of_1812

The War of 1812 was fought between the United States of America and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland and its colonies, including Upper Canada (Ontario), Lower Canada (Quebec), Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Bermuda.

The war lasted from 1812 to 1815, although a peace treaty was signed in 1814. By the end of the war, 1,600 British and 2,260 American soldiers had died.[5] In addition, tens of thousands of slaves escaped to British lines because of their offer of freedom, or they just fled in the chaos of war. The British settled a few thousand of the newly freed Americans in Nova Scotia.[6]

At sea, the powerful Royal Navy blockaded much of the coastline, though allowing substantial exports from New England, which was trading with Britain and Canada in defiance of American laws. The blockade devastated American agricultural exports but helped stimulate local factories that replaced goods previously imported. The American strategy of using small gunboats to defend ports was a fiasco, as the British raided the coast at will. The most famous episode was a series of British raids on the shores of Chesapeake Bay, including an attack on Washington D.C. that resulted in the burning of the White House, the Capitol, the Navy Yard and other public buildings, later called the "Burning of Washington", which avenged the burning of York, today's Toronto, in the previous year.

The point is that it wasn't people from the federal union of Canada (which didn't exist) and it wasn't even burned by the British colonies that lived in what is now Canada...it was done by people from England.

The whole war of 1812 was a political battle, not an attempt by the US to invade the British colonies in Canada.

Please don't confuse him with facts.

Wow, this isn't going to do shit. Congress cannot decide to lower gas prices in lieu of a discovery, let alone with how the economy is doing right now.

Just imagine...
Had the US desecrated Canada during that war, there wouldn't be all those French faggots that litter the landscape up there today.
I realize you are trying to be your usual funny self, but this is just a lame-duck post.

I'm quite alright with the French influence in Canada.
