No. I literally mean what I said. A very large part of how well an economy is doing is the confidence in it by the citizens. If people don't think an economy is doing well, they begin to make rash decisions that can be unpredictable and usually do not support economic growth. This is what will ultimately bring an economy down. Not the rise in gas prices, but the people's reaction to it.
This is also why despite our economy being on a downturn, President Bush always had positive things to say about it. If he got on TV and said, "We're all fucked", everyone would have panicked and then we would have been fucked for sure.[/QUOTE]
