Does the economy have you nervous?

Ive been married for almost 20 years, own my house, life is good, wife and I bring in around 140k, and for the first time in my life, I am actually a little concerned about the economy.

These gas prices impact seemingly every area of our economy. People are really starting to feel the pain from the current housing market along with gas prices. Are you nervous about things? I hope this is just another bump, but I fear we may be in for something nobody in our generation has seen.

My parents are worried because if that retard obama gets elected, they will be paying 60% income taxes to support those ****ing lazy asss poor mutha ****as

Our generation? No.

You notice the older people who have seen the great depression or who have worked through the big "bumps" in the past 50 years are not worried.

Me personally? I'm a 21 year old kid who works for near nothing, and it sucks. Economy sucks, but nothing has really changed for me, other than gas *******, being that I have a very small simplistic job.

I'm thinking maybe the armed forces is the best career path for me as of right now.

lol that is quite true. Our generation has no clue whats going on, and don't really care. I am 19, and the economy is making me a little nervous, but not cause of my financial position, but what may happen to it. It will happen very quickly, and we won't know what to do.

As a former Marine, you better think long and hard about the military as an option. That shit is no joke. I used the military as a way to pay for school, but I am not sure I would do it again in the current state of affairs.

Dying for your country is all BS. Those kids are not dying for our country, they are dying because they are political pawns.

Go to freaking school. At 21 there isnt much you can do anyways. You have little experience and no education.

Military is an option, but it woul dbe the last for my kids.

Good luck.

I am not worried about gas....I bought a motorcycle and get over 70mpg:woot:
No offense here, but your response makes my point. Do you really think YOU personally can control the situation by buying a scooter?

Do you think the cost of gas alone has me shivering? So i spend 80 bucks to fill my truck instead of 45. That 35 bucks in 10 days is nothing. But that cost of gas impacts everything around us. The guy that comes to fix the AC, they charge more, the grocery store has to charge more, EVERYTHING you buy is impacted by the price of fuel.

My wifes job that deals with cardboard boxes is impacted. It never ends.

With this level of thought, and grammar, you should be glad your parents have money...it's obvious you'd have a tough time earning it in any field requiring a brain.

As far as the economy is concerned, I have my worries, but also realize that there have been worse times. Gas is the big issue that people point to (as it impacts everything else), and although it sucks, I am *glad* it's up as high as it is (so quickly anyways). My explanation for this is simply that gas should be this high if it would have increased with inflation over the past 30 years. If that would have been the case though, the change would have been incremental and people would have dealt with it and gone about their lives. With the extreme nature of the increase, there is uproar and innovation, which I am hopeful will lead to new and more intelligent energy sources.

yes im hella nervous..

i need to carpet my house. and carpet is i bi product of oil, now i get a discount on carpet too and it's still expensive!

allso, my roomate is moveing out with his G/F i can afourd my house payment and utilities by myself, but i wont have any food in the fridge or gas for my car...

i think the usa is slowly going down the shitter. bush ****ed us over SOOO bad!

P.S. someone else mentioned it in passing, but oil is not actually increasing at the apparent rate. The dwindling value of the US dollar has a substantial effect on the "price" increase.

Obviously this is paired with increasing "actual" oil prices, but neither alone is responsible for all of the increase.
