Do you guys solder or crimp or tape

I've always used butt crimps and have never had an issue with any fail. I'm trying with this install to do everything with solder and heatshrink though.

I use butts on headunits. I can sit in here at work/home and wire it up and walk outside and plop it in. If I solder I use heatshrink. Tape sucks. From the heat sometimes it starts to lose its stick and unravel.

The thing about tape is true.......what should you suggest I do to the big 3 wires under the hood that is near my exhaust? ATM I have wire loom over it with black tape around the loom, I also have it taped away from the exhaust

I started off doing the twisting the wires together and black tape but now i got a shit load of crimp connectors and use those, they are much better, lots faster than soldering, and easier i would say, They stay together as long as you have the wire stripped off long enough and crimp it good.

on my power wire if i am around a vise i will hammer it down a little to get it snug then put it in a vise and put alot of force on it (im a big guy)

i think that is a reliable way of making sure it is gonna stay besides soldering it!

i twist the wire's together, and crimp cap them... i like the fact that i KNOW the wire's are connected...

and then i use zip tie's to make it all puuuurdy...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

x2.....while at the shop for customer is butt-con....my personal stuff or friends on my own time....solder/heatshrink.....looks alot neater and not coming apart and zip ties to hold it together.....twist and tape I will NEVER do....that is very lazy and IMO if your going to do it that way.....have someone else do it for you or do it properly.....common sense to avoid any future problems....a little moisture could ruain your day //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

I have always done the "twist and tape" myself. I have a bad habit of changing H/U's on a way too regular basis.
Then use some of these:
