aright been testing my amps this way for a while now where tyo get desired ac voltage it is sqrt.(rms*ohmload)
i was testing my hifonics 2608 and it was reding 70 volts ac, thats 4600rms.... i dont think that was right
it was a 60hz test tone -3db. voltage was kept at 13.1-13.5 with minimal drop while amp was at full tilt.
what gave me this 70v reading? subsonic is at around 20 hz and lowpass is at 40hz. gain is around 3/4 of max. now i didnt play my hd with it at full tilt yet since im gonna let it break in for a bit, but the woofer barely has any excursion. i hear the bass feel it a little but nothing special, i assume more excursion and spl will come as the subs suspension softens?
when i re tested the amp while it was hooked up to the sub it only read around 14v spikes on certain songs, a little higher for some others, this was around half volume though so shouldnt it be reading 35v?
o ya impedence is 1.4ohm at the amp
anyone who could steer me in the right direction the help would be greatly appreciated.
usually with hifonics amps i have had a hard time to get to the ac volt to match rms rating of amp, but i never surpased it by 20v.
