DIY People, what you running?

Illusion CH1 Horns (reworking install) and whatever mids I feel like running that day. Usually run some Coustic DR 306P 6.5" mids. Going to install some Coustic DR 8" subs and see how they do as midbass //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Then, at some point in time I'll actually get around to installing my ND-10's as mids.

I think I'm going to go 3-way DIY in the van. Aura tweets, and either 4" Coustic DR mids, Usher dome mids or DLS dome mids, and either those 306P's up above as midbass, Dayton RS midbass, or some of the Seas L18/21 or CA1821 mids.....or maybe even some Peerless HDS midbass. The Cheapboy (npdang) specials might even be out by then, and I may go with those. Don't know....too many options.

Very nice. Those L18RNX will serve you well as midbass. They have tremendous output when installed right. I witnessed them in 10K2HVN's car without the sub on and i honestly thought it sounded like there were //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

They will be getting here next week, I am eagerly awaiting there arrival. That is good to here about the midbass because I won't be running subs for a little while //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif Need to get the electrical system taken care of, then build kicks for the frontstage, and then lastly the subs.

Someone said that DIY problem is amplifier channels. I have Vifa mids with maxfi tweets and i use a old passive crossover from my IDcxs64s for now. Works great. I am going active when my eclipse deck gets here next week. There is places that will make a passive crossover that will work with what ever combo you want to get. I am just looking that i have 105.00 into my speakers and they sound better then my ID CXS64s to me. From the reviews from 10K2HVN and a few others there DIY system sounds as good as speakers that cost 2 to 3 times the price.

Theres not alot of talk on here about DIY so i started this to see if many here run them. Right now i have Vifa PL18 and maxfi tweets. I dont know why more people try DIY. The prices of the brand name equipment is getting out of hand. Anyone else trying DIY?
4 ohm Extremis + css 4.5 right now with the tweeter undecided. Using old koda tweeters, probably going to seas excel t25-001's though.

ive got a viper 550.6 (1\2 = 150w@4, 3\4 = 150w@4, 5 = 38w@8, 6 = 38w@8) running my image dynamics CD2 HLCD's. they got loud as hell. and whatever mids i decide to plop of 1\2 and 3\4 to supply the midbass.

rear deck holds my crossfire CFX3.24, and my crossfire CFQ31M's for EQ and crossover duty (all 1\3 octave)

i was going to be matching the horns with the adire koda 8's. but they dont fu*king fit. after all that work and them being gay. im pretty peev'd. so im actually looking for some high-output mids that are not XXX's. i was looking at the seas L18RNX and the AVIsound LXD-160. i was also thinking adire extremisis, but im not sure. id like them to be able to take 150w@4 if possible, they need to be 6.5" (or about that size) because 8's wont fit.

sigh. its just so dissapointing. i wish i had a bigger car //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
