Dirtys Celica build. here we go.

so ive been on here long enough and have nothing to show. so im currently starting my build. it will consist of :

aq 15" HDC3 a-coils.

2 aq1200ds strapped to 2 ohm. (2.4 to be exact)

fronts are Diamond hex s600 and rears are type r 6.5"

running off an RF t5002 amp

so, lets get it started.

box was custom made by surreal. its a horn design, hoping for some nice sound and still loud.

need some ideas for the box! have been thinking about wrapping it in gray carpet with carbon fiber Vinyl front? any ideas shoot em

updated. so we cut all the pieces yesterday,

sanded edges and all. i need to get my hands on some clamps. then from there we will finish constructing the box.

so to begin, we glued the double baffle, used 2x4s to keep the distribution of force spread out evenly as possible.

going to the cut the mount whole tommorow, if all goes well the final wall will be installed internally, and the entire box will be done by tuesday!

That is NOT a horn. That is a bass reflex (ported) box with a flared port. A horn contains a driver in a small sealed space firing into the throat of a horn which expands out...

You will be very hard pressed to find a true horn design used in car audio.

wiring to 2.4 ohm? sounds like a coil is starting to go (or you aren't zeroing out your dmm).

Just saw this - any updates?

HiSpls: I think we all know it isnt a horn by conventional means. Though the technical name would literally be rear loading horn. Look it up.

A horn does not have to have a throat chamber either.. look at tapped horns.
