36 thousand dollar car...i didn't want to mess up anything especially the navigation.
i have done other cars: civics, accords, crv, integras, trucks....but i didn't trust myself on this tl

i've never worked on a car with nav, so i don't know anything about it

I'd say its worth the money. Wiring and bypassing the stock amp to retain the navi function can be a nightmare. I'd pay that much just to have them deal with it. I used to own an Acura CL and now a Lexus IS300, both with navi and wiring is nightmare if you want to upgrade the stock system since the navi intergrates alot of stuff onto the stock system.

i always wanted my amp on my celing or on the pasanger side firewall for some reason. or under the rear seat becuase it would be easy as shit. but was always worried about heat. Found out the spare tire well was amazing if you had some 'squerl (sp?) fan's)

I guess we're all spoiled by the internet prices, but I would agree with you there about the going rate of shop installs. For me, it's not so much about the money, but the pride that goes into installing your own stuff. That's the best part about being a man, hanging out with the fellas working on the car.
