I paid $425 to have my system installed in my 2006 Acura TL

here are what they are installed

---JL Cleansweep---

Alpine Amp Mrd-M501

Kicker Amp 4channel ZX.650

a/d/s 346cs 6.5 component speakers

Diamond Audio 6.5 Hi End Coaxial D661i speakers

2 12" l7 Kickers with the box

I gave them all the wiring that they needed. (4gauge, rca cables, etc).

Did i get ripped off? They said they usually charge costumers 800 for this kind of work but since i know his nephew he charged me 425. What do you guys think? oh btw its a profesional shop

they goin to take out my old jl 12"s out of the box and replace it with l7 12" into the box. so i guess to answer your question, no they aren'tn making me a box.

Um...they said i can choose to mount my amp anywhere i want, i told them they could just do it on top of my box....

if they offer anywhere you want you ought to get more creative than that. have them embed it in something.

If you can get them to make an amp rack so they sit flush with the floor or sidewall for example...then 425 isn't bad...but to just put it on the box it is a little overpriced...for example for what they are installing for you at the CC I work at we would charge somewhere around 350 and that is overpricing the labor

I reckon that's decent money just for that equipment list much less to have it installed to boot?

well, they have the car....they said it'll take 2 days to install because i brought it in late. They said i can pay for it tomorrow...AFTER the work is done.

Hold on, i apperantly misunderstood his post. I was under the assumtion that this was strictly for the installation of everything. If that is the price with the purchase of all of his equipment it seems like a okay deal to me.

u are right, it is strictly for the installation...

i dont think you can find the equipments i have for under 500.....

Actually, now that you post that and I reread the post I'm thinking you had it right the 1st time and I'm the one that misunderstood.

If that price is purely for installation of gear the OP already had then I retract my previous post...

$425 @ $60/hour labor rate comes out to be about 7 hours...I think its about right on 'cause I'd bet they charge more than $60/hour for labor....
