Decision. Need new (or used) sub.

First Thread.

So, I've come across two deals that seem to be very good.

2 w6v2 12s - $320. Guy replaced the surround on both. I think he might sell individually if I desire.

Or

1 w7 12 - $400. Nothing else was specified. Will be checking out the sub later this week.

Which would ultimately be the better buy? I've only heard a 10w7.

Should both of these options fall through, I was thinking an American Bass XFL. Whichever option, I will purchase a properly tuned box from someone on here. I own a Jeep Grand Cherokee, and was wondering if anyone had some past experience on a more "sql" oriented set up. Any other suggestions? Budget is ~$500 for both the sub and box.

how much space are you willing to give up? Measure it in L x W x H

That's the reason why I'm here. Been doing research for the longest. I just didn't know if it would be worth it or not. Just looked at the FU sub review. Seems like those things can handle quite a bit of power. But since the amp I have is only 2 ohm stable, how would I wire the subs? Are the FUs like the XFLs, where they come with wiring instead of push terminals?

Push terminals instead of direct leads. Wire them like this with a jumper. There's a Dual 4 ohm version when wired parallel will give you 2 ohms.

To build up on the JL current used pricing, you can get 13w7s for 350 used. The two W6 deal sound like older models. You can get newer versions for similar pricing and they are improved over the v1s. If you care about sound quality more than SQL, there's nothing wrong with going with JL if you can get them for reasonable pricing. I wouldnt do the current choices you have though. Since an 18 would offer considerably more output and in a proper box, it can sound decent.

I think I'll end up going with the FU 18. But I'm gonna check and see what my local dealer would charge for an XFL 18. With the XFL I know I can run 1k or more daily, it seems like I could do the same with FU as well. I guess price would decide. Any pros and cons apart from the fu having a 2.5in vc?
