Deadening to SPL Gains in my Jeep

Okay, I give in - I ordered Damplifier Pro. I have 216 ft^2 on the way!

I talked to Ant and it is 1.75-2mm thick so I can still use 2 layers in front of the b-pillar and be legal for dB Drag //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

so ur gonna double the rear roof now ?
Oh yah. I am unlimited behind the b-pillar so I will deaden until it stops gaining... even if 216 ft^2 is not enough I'll get more!

In front of the b-pillar it will get two layers to equal the 4mm limit for dB Drag

what are the 2 small alum heatsinks? your mid/high amps?

what brand are they? more details please????
Those are Harrison Labs Flux Caps -- they step up my 12v system to charge my 16v bank at 17.9 volts //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I normally have an SAX-50.4 in here for mids and highs but I took it out for now.

Looks sick Jake.Almost a 1/2 db gain nice.Whats a pack of that cost?

And for those who say remove the PVC.One of the loudest guys in street had a box very similiar to Jakes and was doing 54's all day with it.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Keep up the nice work.

I was joking ....the jeep does strong numbers ...Jake has a goal ,and we wont stop until he reaches it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I had two more small rectangles of deadener left from my pack:
* After, see on either side of the piece that was sticking out farther

GAIN - 151.5 dB

logic would dictate that something is wrong here. it just doesn't make sense that covering your entire ceiling by adding a complete bulk pack gives you 0.5db increase in spl but adding those 2 tiny pieces gives you a 0.1db increase. they cover what, maybe 1/8th of a sq ft at best? that says that either your are not testing it in the same manor each time or not testing it enough times each step of the way to get a true reading. i think you would be better off testing it 3-5 times after each application and using an average. too many variables to get an accurate reading from one time.

good luck on the install though. i did my entire trunk, trunk lid (3 layers), floor and front doors (inner and out skins). it's a pain in the *** to do but well worth it in the end.

I added a single piece of metal tape in a vehicle doing 158s and gained 0.1 dB -- you might be surprised. The 0.1 remained as many times as I tested after the application.

My meter is not set to read past the 0.1 mark -- so I may have gained fractions of a dB before then and those two pieces pushed it to the next 0.1 mark. The TL can read to 0.01 if configured that way.
