DD3512 questions

My friend wants one and my first question is $250 good for a used 3512 with a CF dustcap? The second problem is that i heard the sub needs 1500 watts RMS for it to be good. What if i cant get a 1500 watt RMS amp but more like 1000-1200 watts to it?

Compared to this i can get a new Kicker L7 12 for $200 but i would be fine with a 1000 watt amp for it, but my friend wants the kicker box which cant be found so either way im looking at building a box for him. Im pretty sure the 3512 would be louder than the L7, but what if both subs were powered with 1000 watts? Which would sound louder?

oh, nm then. I was going to say to do a google on "audio enhancers" for an enclosure for it, but i don't think they make one like that.

Yeah, he'll only take the box that comes with the kicker sub from kicker itself. Cant find it anywhere in Houston.

I did run a pair of DD3512's in my truck. It was powered by a US Amps USA-2000x, and the subs were playing really well at 1000watts RMS. You should be fine as long as the enclosure is designed and built correctly.
