DD Subs?

Just goes to prove with DD more isn't always better //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I hope to run some 9512's off a Z1 pretty soon, I will tell you how they sound. I believe SQ is a very subjective term, but I will compare them to other subs I have heard. Remeber its mostly in the enclosure.

I'd do two 3510's in the mustang I have a 96 with the same trunk....I'm gonna be putting the same setup in there soon....Most likely two 9510's on a DD Z1...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
I wish I had the spare cash to pick up those two 3510's they would be better fit for my trunk. After receiving the 9510's and the amps to power them there is no way thats going in my daily driver. Once money free's up again it will probably be a 3500 series in the trunk.

The carrera is nice...I've just been scared of the water cooled engines Porsche doesn't have a great track record with those //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif...They had it going with the old air cooled engines...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
they dont have a darn thing wrong with them. they have been water-cooled since the late model 993's. we had one of the last air cooled 993's.

Well it will be for personal SQ I'm not gonna compete or anything with it....Being an SPL guy...I tend to like my Bass a little bit heavier than the judges do in SQ in IASCA or USACi....But I'm pretty sure it will deliver the sound I'm looking for....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif DD being a specialty hand made speaker you don't see many of them period even in the SPL lanes even around here...Almost every show I goto people are amazed with the output and low end bass I get out of my DD 10's....You ought to seen the crowds at the last show when my two 10's got loudest of the day beating this setup //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif by over 3dbs.....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

You dont see them in the SQ lanes because they simply aren't suited to that type of setup very well, not because they are hand-made. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif Again, not bashing these drivers... guess what, I LOVE 9500's, I just think some people are getting a bit carried away with their opinion of the speaker's abilities.

No speaker yet has had the ability to get loud like a 9500 (ot MT, BTL etc) while maintaining SQ like an IDQ, ava or Brahma. Yet it seems like DD fans constantly try to convince us that's exactly what the 9500 does.

SQ and personal preference are two different things. I can appreciate you like your bass as clean as possible, but evevn you admit you like your music bass heavy. This should not translate into "SQ".

All Im asking is that we remain realistic here. The 9500's are beasts no doubt, but they are no SQ queens. Placing in the same "SQL" categories as many other subs Ive mentioned gives a skewed view of their true performance. The 9500 was built to belt out big numbers in the lanes, but they also can sound good in a daily system... yes Ive heard 9500 systems that sounded ... 'good', Ive yet to hear one that came anywhere near sounding great tho. Maybe L_CRX will be the first. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The Porsche forums scared me away from buying one...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif I like my new Saleen....I'm sure I'll keep it another 10 years it is fun to drive....lol

I could do the 3510's. Would 1000rms each be good for them? I want to give them a lot of power, but don't want to blow them.

The 1008's are so tempting though. They are really inexspensive, and throwing a bunch in there would be cool.

But most likely I will go with the 3510's. The 95's I would do, butI just don't feel like making the necessary electrical upgrades to be able to fully power them.

Yup, the electrical requirements and weight is exactly why my 95's aren't going in my daily driver, too much required to make that happen, atleast more than I'm willing to do to a new car.

Now a POS beater I don't care about tearin up a little, thats another story //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Additinally, no need to reference "max" anything as those specs are useless. Most of know how to look at specs for a given speaker, amp, HU, etc...
