500 series - entry level sub- around $70

2500 series - comparable to most mainstream subs, SQL - around $200-?

3500 series- better than most mainstream subs, SQL - $370-?

9100 series- hardcore sq sub, SQ - $650-?

9500 series- super sub, SQL - $500-?

9900 series- hardcore spl sub, SPL- around $800

9900z series - crazy super spl only sub with huge a$$ neo magnet, around $5000

Yeah...I dont think the words SQ were mentioned when designing the 9500. Even though it sounds decent. Definatly not an SQL sub. SPL all the way

SQL setups usually consist of ported enclosures. The enclosure will make it a SQL setup.

right on, most people assume that the 9500 series is spl only but that's not true... the mentality comes from the fact that most put them in huge ported boxes, in reality they have good sq if put into a "sql" oriented box. look on dd's official forum, theres a sticky about all dd subs and their purpose

I've had and have used every series of DD's current subs except for the 9900's from the 500's to the 99z's ....I'm gonna use a DD 9510 in my Saleen for SQ....

99z is the only SPL only sub... 9900 is basically also SPL made but it is just a better version of the 9500 same motor but has kevlar cone....

I have to throw this out there. The DD 2500s are some of the most under rated subs out there. Go on the soundpressure board ask about them.Even the Aq SD 2.5s great(best IMO) bang for the buck.
