newbie
i got a crossfire vr302 amp,2 10'' jl audio subwoofers, and an alpine deck as well as 4 eclipse speakers in my 76 blazer. I took out my subs and amp because a few shady people were snooping around my car while i was over in the ghetto near my cousins house. the next morning (today) i ****ed up realllly bad.

1.the stereo was running when i put the face plate back on because i accidentally left key position in accessory.

2.Then i accidentally put the 12v 8 gauge cable running straight from the battery into the music slot on my amp instead of the 12V slot. It sparked as i put it in.

3.Then i put the radio cable probably 12 or 16 gauge into the 12V cable on the amp.

4.now its wired correctly but the radio wont even come on.

So how much damage did i do? if you need more info please ask and feel free to make fun of my nooby mistakes //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Shit happens. Check your fuses...
x2
what is a music slot?
i looked and tested some more and concluced the same as you guys its definitley a fuse or i just blew the whole ******* amp :/ ill be posting some pics in a few min as there is two of the blue cables that im unsure of where they go.

EDIT: by music slot i meant the slot where the wire from the deck comes and tells the subwoofer what kind of beats to make.

newbie here (me) has a few questions

which cable goes in which slot i know for sure they both go in there i just cant remember for the life of me which one goes in which slot. I dont even know what those ones do tbh :/ so if you could tell me what they do while your answering which slot they go in thatd be really helpful lol.

that blue thing is the fuse as you can see in pic but how do i pull it and where do i buy a new one?

refer to above picture for this question

black wire=ground

red wire=power

blue wire=deck

going from right to left is this order correct to hook up these cables

black(ground wire),blue(deck wire),red (8 gauge power wire)

You just pull the fuse out with your hang look at it to see if the metal inside is burnt or separated. You can get them anywhere (autopart store, hardware store, Wal-mart). Also check your fuse on the power wire and chech the fuses in your fuse box in your car to see if your radio fuse is blown (should be a 10amp fuse). For the RCAs it depends on which one is on red/white on your deck and just match that up with the ones on the amp.

Yes those wire that go in the red and white spots are the RCAs. The 12v wire is the remote wire that goes from the radio to the amp. This wire tells the amp whento turn on and off. Asfar as the RCAs go just match the positive on the radio one to the positive on the amp and Same thing with negative.

thanks guys i have a few new conundrums as i look further into this. My deck's removable face wont come on at all. However once i take off the removable face theres a tiny red light that flashes every 15 seconds which is still flashing. So i blew up the face but not the deck? as there is obviously still an intact power source to keep making that tiny light flash. Additionally the fuse in my amp wont come out is there a trick to it?

You plugged a bare power cable into an RCA jack?

Pliers

pull while wiggling/rocking it back and forth.
alrite ill try a little harder

did you check the fuse on the headunit?
the led light still flashes every 15 seconds so i assume it has power but i still have to check to be sure

not into a jack into the amps reciever where you put the copper wire i put the power cable coming from the battery into the part of the amp meant to recieve radio signal from a 16 gauge and i fed it a live 8 gauge wire.

wouldnt that break it lol

This is a prime example of why some people should go to a shop...
im learning alot from all this

thanks everyone for the help so far hopefully i can manage to get my system running soon because its boring as **** driving with no radio tbh //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
