should i get 2 type r's on my 1501d in place of my single mtx9512? i want hard low end.

Type Rs arent bad drivers. I just am really partial to the Kickers.

We recieved a type R after the graphs were posted. It was .2db higher than the cvx, but it did not play nowhere near as flat

From what ive heard the CVX is a round version of a L7. Not 100% sure on that, it has slightly less cone area so it is slightly at a disadvantage there

was the lowpass filter at around 60 hz? cause i notice they all fall 60hz and above and everyone always complaining about the subs with xbl dropping around there...

i really had no problem with my r hitting the higher notes

Like Chad stated, when you have the room, ported, I'd take the more cone advantage on your setup.

i've been pretty impressed with the 2 cvx systems i've installed at work.
