Crossover question...

Im going to buy a component set eventually, not sure which brand but it will be 6.5 speakers and tweets. I think I understand what the function of a crossover is and how you need to deliver certain frequencies to the different speakers cleanly. I have never seen one of these component sets in person or the crossover so I was fishing for some clues on what exactly you can do with them and how you adjust anything if at all. Sorry if this is too rudimentary but I cant find any info on what adjustments the crossovers have if any. Anymore info would be appreciated. Thanks!

There isn't really much "you can do with them". They sit there between the speakers and the amplifier, passively filtering the system.

About the only adjust most passive crossovers have is tweeter level adjustment/attenuation, normally something like 0db, -3db, -6db. This is used in situations where your tweeter placement causes it to have a little more output than the mid, so you need to attenuate the tweeter to level match the speakers properly.

Some have the option to bi-amp, which would be where you run two amp channels per side rather than one. There may be a switch or jumper on the passive to switch between bi-amped and nonbi-amped.
