Crimping 10ga speaker wire to 12ga ok?

When i put my 15" XXX in it's home, I didn't use enough wire to reach to my amp rack i'm building right now. Would it hurt to crimp the 10ga wire down to some 12ga wire and finish the project?

Twist, solder, heatshrink. Solid connection.

But yeah, it's fine...10awg is overkill anyway.

i have all sorts of wires in my box lol. i have 12, 14, and 16 awg, so colorful too ahaha

...no its not on purpose its just a ghetto fab
