Creepy Install on a V6 Eclipse...

yes that is VERY unfornate
we as mobile electronic employes get "shitted" on a lot by managment

they are slowly taking our hours and trying to get rid of us...

dont take it personally,

plus MOST M.E. employes wouldnt be able to help you any way... BBY just stick random kids in the depart. no special training ness.

the knowlegable kids go to H.T and computers

its sad i know
I had part #'s for what I needed and they still couldn't match it up!

you obviously cant read...
1) not a radio install

2) the radio was not turning on when it FIRST came to us ( not stated in first post)

3) she HAD to leave the first time to get the code from the dealer

3a) it came with no working radio ( not BBY problem)

4) she came back later with in 2 hrs to only leave with in 10 min because her daughter had to be picked up from school.

5) i did not :let it go: she "took it"

try readin the WHOLE story next time
1) Radio was a generic term for my generic example. Dont make too many jokes about reading comprehension unless yours is flawless.2) So? That affects you sending out a bad sub install how?

3) So? The first time? The second time? Now while the car still sits there? At what point do YOU take some responsibility for figuring out the problem? Oh that's right, that poor lady wont get any help till Friday around noon. And people say BB has crappy installation policies...

3a) See my answer to #2

4) And now the car sits in your parking lot.

5) She took it... to your parking lot.

I read the WHOLE story, I just dont agree with your view of the situation. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

If you do an install isn't it supposed to work properly when it leaves the shop? Not just "oh your subs pop a little when the door closes deal with it!"What kind of service is that????
best buy service...

anywho. when i work on a car weather the car be a POS or not.... when i install something i take my time and install it correctly. because it's my name... i dont care what or who's company i represent... im worried about MY WORK.. i take pride in my work.... dont pass the buck just cause the car is a POS.

It shouldn't matter if it was a POS or not.She was paying BB to install a stereo and it should have been done properly. And what does the clutch have to do with a stereo install.Maybe it wasn't your appointment but you worked on it and sounds like you did the majority of the work so that makes it your resonsibilty to make sure it leaves the shop working right. Not send her somewhere else to fix something you guys caused.

With an attitude like that, Im betting you dont work at BestBuy. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif If this had been my project, id be embarrassed until I figured out the problem. Not sitting on the net telling everyone and laughing about it.

A poor ground will not cause that problem either. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

that's how i feal...

no i do not work at a BB.. but have worked at a CC... but i hated working there!!

i work at "big box store" just like BB,CC... but i am the Shop supervisor, lead installer... it's just me back here...

and yes i take pride in my installes. do them right the first time... i know when a car pulls out of my shop they will not have to come back untill other services are required... end of story..

some of these big box store installer's that are paid on commision just throw shit in the car. as fast as they can... just to make money.. yet in the long run there really loosing money due to how many times the car comes back for repairs... dumb!

You worked on the car till 1030? Or helped her push it out to a parking spce and left it for the night? You are closed on Thursdays?
You thinking she was stoned makes you doing a half-assed job okay? Cant you at least call work, discuss it with an installer working today, and have him look at it? Wouldn't it be a nice thing to help the lady since she is obviouslly already having problems?

I took my car to the shop for a new motor and when I got it back they told me only 4 of the 6 cylinders where working and that because my tail pipe was rusted it would just have to be like that!I'm so happy with my new motor every time i get in it greets me with a new sound!

**** those rusted tailpipes will get ya evertime, gotta look out for that kinda stuff.

I don't see what her car being t-boned has anything to do with the door hitting and subs popping. If it does that with the vehicle off as well, then it has nothing to do with the audio. Are you sure it's coming from the sub?

Also, I see too many DIY'ers tryin to work at Best Buy and CC. They tell them "yeah I've worked on my car and friend's and I do good work, etc". I know someone who didn't use a ring terminal for his ground, just bolted the wire to some metal, was a shitty ground. I've seen such horrible installs and the sad part is, some of these people come and ask me what their problem is..i seriously feel like saying "you are the problem. pay some money and have someone who knows what they are doing work on your car instead of screwing things up and asking me." With so many variables of what could have gone wrong, and i dont know everything, how the **** am I supposed to know? Then again, will BB even get a qualified installer? Highly unlikely, but very few, because people who want to be installers will find an audio shop.

ill have to check it...
the other isntaller did the ground

i want to say he grounded it to a seat belt bolt. but i have no idea honestly
Why couldn't you check the ground before she left if you thought it might be that? And what idiot uses the seatbelt bolt for a ground?

Ah I see. My comment about the mystery current in the speaker still stands though. Thats an impossible situation that clearly means there is an issue to deal with the installer has not considered. The OP should be tracking down the problem right now, not typing about it to his buddies on the net. *shrug*
Its amazing how many of these mystery install problems originate from BB or CC. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
Agreed. And it's not amazing IMO...when you read stories like this and see what service you're getting, it's pretty much common to have such a problem.

i dont work when im not not he clock.
Even if you don't, you don't just leave the vehicle and say "i'll wait till friday noon, the car should be there. Ever think if the lady needed her car? As someone else mentioned, you should tell your manager what happened and it is your responsibility to let someone know, because your company is responsible for the car. Your manager decided to have you guys work on it, and he can't and nobody can't return the car half-assed. And BB audio employees wonder why they get so much hate.

BB employees don't know shit...seriously, I have gone there a couple times and I've asked simple question and people couldn't help me on numerous occasions with different reps each time. I've had much better luck at Circuit City, yet I wouldn't have them touch my car since I can do it myself or with the help of friends.

Mental note: Do not take install advice from alpinetypeR.
Haha j/p

Fix the poor stoned ladies car. Do it for her kids!
There are always some truth to lies (or jokes). I wouldn't take any advice from alpinetypeR
