Ok so I thought I knew enough to go ahead and install an amp in my car but I guess I was wrong. I really dont know what I messed up in...I followed every instruction in the manual and in the Crutchfield website...The one lil thing that might be wrong is the turn on lead cable...Cuz my amp wont turn on...I even went ahead and got another one to see if mine was faulty or something but nope...They still wont turn on!!! My car's original wiring has the Amp turn on lead cable just hanging there...Its not even connected to my HU...The only cables that go to the HU are the speaker cables and the 12V (red) cable...And a yellow constant 12V cable...Any help???????????//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Go out and get yourself a digital multi meter. Start testing.

The power and ground at the amp should read 12v. Take a small wire and jump it from the power on the amp to the remote. It should turn on.

Ok Im a newbie...Soooooo...By jumping it you mean....what?

Oh and yeah everything in the amp is in the correct place...But there is ONE thing...The connections arent crimped to terminals or rings...Could dat be the problem???

Ok...I feel so stupid...Maybe I should just take it to a pro...

yeeeeeeeeeah....Umm ok so I get a wire (from the dashboard?) that is 12V right? and hook it up to the remote wire leading to the amp...?

for testing purposes just jump the wire from the amp's power wire to the amp's remote. this will tell you that you have power to the amp and the amp is getting that power. quick and easy to diagnose half the system.

Oh!!! OK...simple...so any wire will do???

And umm one more thing...Say that it does have power and it turns on...What then???I still need it to turn when the HU turns on...And I cant get it to do that! I've read that I can get a switch to manually turn it on...But I would need to route a 12V cable directly from the battery and into the switch with the turn on lead...Am I right??

sounds right. whats wrong with the remote wire on the head unit ?

The head unit it self does not have a remote wire...the harness in the back has one but it just hangs there...Its not connected to the head unit...And I've tried that wire...and nothing turns on...

I know its the remote wire cuz one....It says remote turn on wire and its BLUE...

and I have a Jensen...Im not quite sure what model but like I said...The only cables that go to the HU are the speaker cables with their ground cables and a red and yellow 12V cables...I tapped into both of them and the amp still dont turn on.
