Crappy Amp Installation....HELP!!!!

so you mean to tell me that you have never jumped started a car and touched the cable together to make sure you got a good connection??? did it burn up the car ??? ok then there are factory fuses put in to protect this/that

The fuses are there to protect from accidental or unexpected faults, not purposeful morons shorting wires.

yes please ... if enough current is draw into the chassis your computer and entire electrical will be toast
Not true at all. Think of the amplifiers people are running using the chassis as a ground. Hundreds of amperes of current are running through the chassis.

Preparing your system 101

Do you have a power wire 8-gauge or greater from the 12V-pos (red) connect on battery running to the amplifier POWER/12V connect with a fuseholder and fuse in it ??? (take the fuse out when you toy with the wires, then placing it back in before testing MAKE SURE THE FUSE IS NOT BLOWN, and change it with car OFF)

Do you have an equal or greater gauge GROUND wire of preferably short length (relative to the length of the power wire) heading from the GROUND/GND connect on the amp to a peice of metal frame bolted down with paint scratched way from it all around??? (scratch away plenty)

Do you have RCA lines from the deck to the amp, or converter from the back 6x9's speaker wires into RCA lines connected to the amp? (not the problem)

Do you have your subs wired to the proper impedance for the amplifier? (ask someone for a wiring guide ANYBODY...) If running too low an impedance, the amp is likely to immediately go into power protect.

NOW, the remote wire. Connect a wire, ANY SIZE, from the remote connect on the amp to ANYTHING HAVING ELECTRICAL FLOW. this could be the 12V connect power wire right next to it, OR the friggin' fuse in your fuse box for your WINDSHIELD WIPERS lol just turn the windshield wipers on and see! ANYTHING.

PS get some real connects, just jammin' the wires in there sucks and sometimes fall out which can really f*** your s*** up if you're unlucky. But, if they are in there and making solid contact for the moment, and its still power protect- thats not the problem.

----------------------

hope you find out your problem, I got a hifonics brutus BXi1208d, and it gave me some mysterious electrical power protect problem when i bought it, but then it magically just went away (no really!). I changed the speaker wiring config to a lower impedance (it worked) and then changed it back (it worked!) probably was just a loose speaker wire messin' the whole thing up the whole time. I really like the amp though.

PSS, since you're a 'beginner' or whatever, I'll take the time to tell you this NEVER skimp on your subwoofer enclosure! Go with only optimal volumes specified by the manufacturer's website, whether you go sealed/ported whatever. It is the single most important thing in your system, even more so perhaps than getting lotsa real power to your amp.

Ok, I dunno if you got it fixed, but it's the blue wire hanging out of your headunit, not the blue with white stripes, I had same problem on buddy's HU and it fixed it by connecting it to the blue, the blue with white was not connected to anything, but the blue was connected to the HU
