Crappy Amp Installation....HELP!!!!

One more thing...(nobody seems to answer this)

Umm the cable end points which connect to the amps...(12V+ cable, ground cable, remote) they arents crimped to terminals...could that affect it somewhat???I just stuck the wires in...Of course I peeled off the protective skin to reavel the wires.

no the wires do not need ends on them, the amp's terminals are designed to take bare wire.

i hate to say this but take the hot wire at the amp and tap it real fast to the blk/ground at the amp and tell me what happens
oh yea thats a ****ing fantastic idea.

1. find out if the amps is in working condition.

2 make sure you have current and ground in remote ground and power wire.

3. get a dmm test thos 3 wire that should tell you what you need to know. if all you are missing is a remote lead, then run a relay from the IGN. and call it a day.

thats all you shuld know, its not to hard

no, it should turn on regardless. if it doesnt then guess what , either your wireing is ****ed or your amp is ****ed

ok i've done all of that except test it with the DMM...

and I have two brand new amps...i've tried hooking both of them up but neither of them will turn on...is the ground really all that important???

not.. ...

you can use bare wire without a problem just make sure there are no stray wire thats not inserted ... some amps are desined for a spade type connecting and othere are bare wire ... either way not have a spade on you wire wont hurt ..

did you have the power wire to the batt. already connected to the batt. when you inserted if so it if possible that a stray wire touched the ground and shorted .. causeing the fuse to blow ... check all of you fuses and the wire MAKE SURE THERE ISNT A TINY PIECE OF WIRE STICKING OUT TOUCHING THE AMP OF GROUND >>

i've checked the fuses...and they're good. And no I connected the battery last...

I connected the + cable first and the the - cable...Everything turned on except the amp...but I will go ahead and do all that you guys have said.
