Remote wire thickness

Ok I was just panicking that my system was dead and I realized I didn't have a remote wire which I think turns on the amp. Anyways, what gauge wire does this need to be? I'm hoping this is just the problem. I also have a tiny piece of wire that i'd guess to be like 20-22 gauge that's on my RCA cables. The remote terminal on the amplifier looks like it should take some 4 or 8 gauge wire.

Thanks guys

The wire on the RCA is for the remote wire. Install a small 1/2 amp inline fuse (less than $1 ) at the back of the head unit, then attach the RCA remote wire to that.

It's only running less than a 1/2 amp of current, but if it shorts out it will damage your head unit. The little fuse protects your head unit.

Very few manufacturers actually integrate a remote wire into the RCA's.

Straight to pico?? What about micro and nano. BTW - It's milli -- 10 to about 40mA according to the data at bcae1. They're older amps, but I wouldn't think there's been huge changes in turn on circuts over the past few years.
