hm. i just read up on wikipedia's definitions and it telling me they both are the same. but from what the drug programs court guy was saying , theyre different.

ill have to have him elaborate on that next time i see him.

Im assuming you have no prior record. If you do then you are not eligible to have it expunged. That only works with your first charge. Thats how tennessee is anyway.

Well atleast im not the only one with upcoming court dates. I have one friday and on monday. Its the worse feeling in the world knowing in a few short days you can have your freedom taken from you.

To the OP, the sad truth is that you are more than likely going to be doing some time in jail, wether it be 5 days or 5 months. I'd also worry about you future employment as well.

expunged is where the charges wont show up. which you have to pay a lawyer to do for you. sealed , the charges will still be there but the 'detail' of it will say sealed. you wernt guilty or anything , but the charges are still there.thats why people going through the program like i am , are getting thier shit expunged. its is sealed upon completion but still there. like my record now says 'drug court deferred program' for 3 felony counts of marijuana possesion. i was never convicted. plea bargain ftw.

its not often that you run into judges that are cool but i have too! not worth it when the judge is a c**k ******* w***e. a judge can f**k you over if they happen to be in a bad mood that day.

You have to, because they have to officially write and file the paperwork in front of the court a citizen cannot legally do that. I had to hire one when I had the public intox. charge taken off my record from college. I believe it was only around an $80 charge.

Well clearly it wasnt the case in my situation as I was advised that it would be exponged at my final court date.

I was on probation for a year and reported to a probation officer once a month. Drug testing for 4 months, an alcohol class, marijuana class, 40 hours community service and a madd class.

After all that I was dismissed from probation and as long as I didnt get in trouble within the next year my record would be exponged. Which it was over a year ago.

you can get a case/charge expunged if you wernt proven guilty. i believe you can only get it done once in your life as well. at least thats what ive heard. im getting mine taken care of because 3 felony possesion charges dont took look pretty on a record.
