Couple of questions

Ok, i have two amplifiers

jl 1000/1 and a Digital Designs m1 original

I have a single digital designs 12" DD 2512 dvc 4 0hm wired at 2 ohm.

My question is, every time i look up ratings for the dd m1, it lists for 4 ohm and 1 ohm, but no 2 ohm rating. Are these good for 2 ohm? if so, does anyone know the power rating?

Second, Which amp would be best suited to my sub?

Im going to sell the one that i dont use

any idea on value on the m1 original and the jl 1000/1?

I'd take the JL since it makes the same power @ various loads. You should try DD's website for specs on the m1. It may be in the archives.

I looked there too, but 2 ohm ratings are not listed. Leading me to believe that the m1 is not designed for a 2 ohm load.

I was thinking that as well. Im a bit of a hoarder and i hate to get rid of the M1 since it puts out so much power.

it is designed for 2ohm load. just guessing on rating but I would look for a rating of about 400w @ 2ohm.

However these were extremely underrated and ive seen many clamp them at 1kw+ at 1 ohm

If any amp is rated at 1ohm, 2ohm, ect it will do anything higher. They show a 4ohm rating because that's what some competitions base class off of. In this case I would use the JL but it is old, I would keep the M1 as a back up. On a 2ohm load the JL makes way more power but it's also VERY power hungry, it's not going to like stock electrical.
