Could someone who knows what their talking about, help?

The PPI amp gives you 4ohm, 2ohm, and 1ohm RMS output of 200, 300, and 500 watts, respectively.

The Directed amp gives you 4ohm, 2ohm, and 1ohm RMS output of 275, 400, and 600 watts, respectively.

(these specs according to their respective websites)

Which would better suit your needs? What's the VC configuration of the Reference subs you have?

What's the RMS rating on those...like 300 or so? If so - seems like either amp would suit you with the Directed unit having a bit of edge on power but going from 500 watts to 600 watts on the same subs wouldn't really make an audible difference.

Having said that I'd say get whichever one fits into your budget better. Both are decent mono amps, both are specified to run stable at 1 Ohm and the difference in power output, according to the specs, is only 100 watts. I have no experience with either ~ I'm only basing this on the figures given about both amps by DEI. So - I would suggest get whichever you can score the best deal on. They should both drive a set of 12" References well.
