So i go on crutchfield to see what fits as far as depth goes etc. They only give me maybe 10 choices on 6x9s for my vehicle. Then i go on sonicelectronix and they give me all the options even ones crutchfield said wouldnt fit. So heres my questions.

The mounting depth on the ones for crutchfield range from 2-5/16" , 3-1/4" , 3" , 3-3/16 , 3-5/16"

So im wondering does that mean ANY speaker thats 4 ohms and has a mounting depth no bigger than 3-5/16 it will work???

Specifically looking at the Infinity Reference 3 way 6x9s the mounting depth on them say 3" Does that mean they will fit? Any help is appreciated!
