Featured Door Speakers Depth Issues

I wish I could trim it down, but I think I would need to trim a lot. Plus I heat pressed threaded inserts in it already so I cant remove any material from the top.
I used plastic cutting boards that I purchased from Walmart to design and make my speaker brackets, when replacing door speakers in my Mustang. I made templates from cardboard, trimmed the cutting boards to match and drill the appropriate screw holes. I got the idea from a thread on allfordmustangs.com. Worked fine for me.

Thank you all, for now I think I'm going to wait to get the fronts done and see how everything works out, if it isnt bad after that I'm going to leave everything the way it is. The backs have seem to be ok now.
