computer speakers....

yes , it is the spray can stuff. the color is called ' black granite'.

i will have two amps , one non-working and one working (i hope) when the other comes in. they said they will include a return shipping slip in the box so i guess ill be sending the broken one back...

well , i got the replacement in yesterday. works fine. but they did not sent a return shipping paper and im not paying to ship it back to them, so...

the speakers sound great and get pretty loud. that AC adapter helped out alot. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif im going to play around with some poly fill and see if thatll make them sound any better but i reeally miss the lows. so a sub and amp will be coming soon, probably with the same finish too.

If you had the room for floor standers you should have gone with an MLTL with those things, they do surprisingly well in them. Down to around 50-60hz...tiny footprint too...

If the T-amp is cutting out, it might be because your turning it up too much //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif To be honest, those speakers aren't efficient enough to do well off only what, 8 watts of power? Not to mention, the amp rolls off VERY quickly from 50hz down in stock form, so you will have to mod it extensively ( somewhat) to get any usable bass for your plate amp, either that or split the signal like originally suggested for the plate amp...

If you have the Dough, I would ditch the T-amp and get something more powerful...

i already got a replacement t amp. the other one was just defective. it wasnt becuase of me cranking it up. shit i play this one louder than i did the last and its fine.

the 3's actually do great with the little amount of power. loud enough for my tastes anyways.

im not expecting any bass from these. plan was to run the t amp speaker out through the plate amp then to sub/sats. if i had the cash id go with the reciever some book shelfs and a sub, but i dont. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

In that enclosure they will probably roll off around 200-300hz //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif Not good unless your going with stereo bass, otherwise you have to cross over the sub woofer very high or get the "Blose" sound with no midbass...

They are defiantly going to get choked a bit on the midbass but it would still be interesting to see what the response on them is.

I might have the "Blose" sound, but I am sure they sound a whole hell of a lot better... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

youre talking about the enclosure theyre in now? they do have very little midbass. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

what is this MLTL you speak of? a complicated build?

if anything i may go with what hoxie reccomended in the other thread. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1068243&Sku=L23-6326&SRCCODE=YAHOODF&CMP=SPC-YAHOO

Take a look at the link on post # 166...

Bass down to 50hz, sounds nice to me! BTW the driver used is very similar to the ones you own, but that specific version is only available in Europe IIRC, where as the 871 is readily available in parts express //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Such an easy build, do it!

looks simple ... almost too simple.

i just dont want to be playing around with resistors and inductors trying to find the correct roll-off point and everything else. im very noob when it comes to things like that, though id like to figure out how to.

i may go ahead and try the build out , but i worry because they use a different model speaker. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

hmm.

hmm.
Its basically a simple bass reflex that acts like a TL because of its length, its essentially an ML(mass loaded, IE port) TL, but the author decided to get a little technical with the name //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
He gives you all the values for the Baffle step correction (BSC), but since your driver is different I wouldn't use it, just ask over at diyaudio for your specific application...

meh. i may just go ahead and clean up some room for a reciever and go that route. i know i will want one sometime in the future anyways. also since my b-day (dec 16th) is comming up then christmas, im sure i can put a 2.1 together.

Your still going to have to do something about that mid bass, or lack thereof //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
