ill be using this amp http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&Partnumber=300-952 to power a pair of these http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=264-809 , or these http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/pshowdetl.cfm?&Partnumber=264-815 .

ill be putting them in sealed enclosures, not sure of size yet.

question.

on the amp, it has a 3.5mm stereo jack. i was just going to plug that into the headphone plug on the computer. how would i add a sub to that?

this would be my first time playing with raw drivers like this so suggestions/tips/pointers would be great if you got em.

the t-amp and a 6ft 3.5mm stereo cord.

ill be using either 1/4 or 1/2" mdf for the enclosures. im still not sure on volumes though...

still trying to figure out box size...

im thinking 4" wide x 5 high x 5 deep (.027 cuft) or 4 x 4 x 4 (.015 cuft).

i need em to play as full range as possible. i assume the bigger the box , the more low it will play. but would i sacrifice the upper range doing so? i guess i could get a 2' x 4' sheet of .5" mdf and make 10 boxes and try em all out...but pointers is what i need....

does your pc have a sound card? a lot of sound cards have seperate 3.5mm inputs for 5 channels these days

hmm. i believe i have one of those laying around somewhere. so i could use that to split the signal between the sub and sats?

what about enclosure volumes... any clue what i should aim for?

im thinking 4" x 4 x 4 would be too small. but im not trying to have some bulky boxes sitting around. maybe 5"h x 5w x 4.5d?

also , is there a cutsheet program for sealed boxes? i dont have a problem calculating but it would make life easier if there was...

that splits the signal for 2 pairs of headphones so i would think it could split it for fronts and sub as long as the crossover is on the sub

i dont have the substage yet but im planning on one of those tang band neo 6.5"s on a 70w dayton plate amp so a crossover will be used.

ill probably just get the 2'x4' sheet of .5" mdf and build a couple boxes till i find one thats right.

As far as the sub goes, according to PE you use the mini phono jack to give the amp a signal then it output is using spring terminals. So what you will do is run wire from the terminals on the amp to high level inputs on the plate amp (if you have one yet) and then run the wire from the high level to the speakers.

Simple solution. I just checked that 70W Dayton and it has the high level inputs so you are good to go. Some of the PA's on PE don't have high level anymore. It's a disappearing technology.

So is it 10wrms or 10w max
