my mdf comes from Home Depot. same quality as its always been. smells the same too , lol. i know this cause i usually leave the wood in my truck for that day till i start the project and it leaves my truck smelling....wood-ish.
speakers came today pics up in a few.....

This is what I was referring to earlier. Didn't have a chance to get pictures till tonight. The darker stuff is what I've had to buy lately in my area. It's speckled and seems to be made with pva glue.

hmf. ive never noticed any differance in the wood at my HD. id almost say thats particle board color but eh...strange.

okay. well im having an issue with the amp , i think.

id be jammin listening to music then it would just cut out. at first it would skip like a cd player would then just stop. i thought it was the batteries i was using but i recharged them and it played for a lil bit then stopped. so its not that. im hoping its not the amp cause i dont want to go through the return process if i dont have to.

any ideas what it could be?

i found a set of headphones and those work fine so its on the amp/speakers part.

took out the dmm and probed the speaker outputs, and its not putting out anything.

Sucks. I'd definitely try and return it. Especially if it's from PE. Their customer service is usually pretty badass.

i sent both PE and Sonic Impact an e-mail and they both replied within a couple of hours. they had said the unit is defective and ill have to send it to Sonic Impact for replacement which takes around 2-3 weeks. so ill be sending it out tomorrow.

i recieved what i thought would be a replacement for the faulty t-amp i sent out. NOPE. same ****ing one. so i paid to ship it to them for them to ship it right back to me. but the thing is , when i sent it out, the led would turn on indicating it has power. this one , when i turn it on , it makes the speakers buzz and no led. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/verymad.gif.3f39c5c2fd57527b671fad3efdfac756.gif

they have no phone number (lucky for them) or i would call, but i did send an e-mail to them asking why this happened. wtghey.

just got off the phone with them. took my name , said i was in the system and now theyre sending out a replacement and i should see it in a 'few days'. but i still find it rather ghey that i would have to go through this to get an amp.

while im waiting for the amp to come in , i decided to paint the boxes.

i used a 1/4 sheet pad sander for rounding the edges and my cuts wernt perfect at all. the paint hid alot of that. its rust-oleums stone fleck stuff. turned out decent i think. primed , sanded , two coats of the fleck stone then a few of clear.

got em in and ready. just waiting on the amp to come in.

after the paint sat and cured last night , i realized i could of used a couple/few more coats of clear, but overall im happy with how they turned out. the paint covers alot of my ****-ups. lol.

That finish looks really cool. Was it brush-on or did it come from a can? I'm kinda suprised how much coverage you got, especially if it was a spray.

It's a shame you have to wait so long. So will you have 3 t-amps now or did you send the others back?
