Computer building, I am

I hate dealing with batteries so I went wired keyboard and mouse. I got the G502 mainly cause I liked the looks but I have been happy with it.

I have a wired keyboard but I hate a wired mouse for designing. I'm very precise and make small movements with a mouse and a cord drives me nuts. I've got too many speaker wires to have a mouse wire getting caught up back there too.

Look at a Razer Buck, great for gaming and the precision is awesome. Plus they make a few wireless models. All with rechargeable batteries built in and the ability to use batteries as well iirc. Different sizes of course for the size of your hands. I use that Deathadder Elite V2 because it is a bigger mouse just for that reason.

I bought a different logitech mouse that I know is proven but I'll keep that in mind if I don't like this one.

This push/pull setup works well on my CPU's air to water radiator. 4 140mm fans, two 3000 rpm fans pushing, 2 slower fans pulling. Not running any fan at 3000 RPM, you know how loud that is? But front's are at like 1200 RPM I think and rears are at maybe like 900 RPM or so, I'd have to go into BIOS to remember. I'm in FL and I leave my windows open all the time, so it's like 80 degrees in my room. With no programs open except for Ryzen Master, the CPU will sit at ~32 C, being like 80 degrees in my room.

So it's working so far. The first thing to go, if anything did, is almost certainly going to be the water pump on the CPU block. It's only rated for 50,000 hours, where my fans are 100k-150k hours.

Is there any program that can red flag my AIO pump if it stops working? I'd greatly appreciate that info.

BTW, the AIO only runs like 800 RPM or so up to 40 C (my curve, it ramps up quickly), so the pump is barely turning out of it's ~2400 RPM, non-meltdown mode. The only time I hit an CPU temp over 45 C or so is while gaming or running virus scans. These AIO's are what's up. I need to get a water cooled GPU, those GPU fans are stupid loud over ~1700-1800 RPM, they'll spin to 3000 RPM+.

Has anyone else built or is building a computer?

My ability to not be able to work on cars or really even have a reason to drive anywhere has lead me here. I don't leave home much so I decided to build a computer.

I'm building it to run games at 1080 or 1440p with a high frame rate, 60 hz or better. Really aiming for 1440p, eventually. I don't think I have anything that will display past 1080p.

I put some good money into this. About the same amount of money I put into my electrical system in my explorer LOL. It's all perspective.

Anyways, like 2/3rds of my stuff is in the mail. I do have my motherboard, case and CPU. I am doing AIO water cooler for my CPU.

Put down your Playstation, put down your Xbox, quit being a puss, and build a computer. If you can install audio, you can probably build a computer. Computers are all 12v, and a lot of the voltages you have going across your board are tiny. Such as max CPU voltages of around 1.35-1.45 volts. I bought a really-ridiculously-over-the-top-never-gonna-use-all-features motherboard, specifically to mess with overclocking. Be warned, bc of the Rona, all prices and availability are really whacky. So much price gouging going on, I'm talking +100% price gouging. So if you ever do build one, watch your ***.

Here's my list of stuff I've ordered. Don't ask me the total price, I won't tell you.

Case: Corsair 750d High Air Flow Version
Motherboard: Asus Crosshair 8 Hero Wifi
CPU: AMD Ryzen 3800xt (8 core, 16 thread, 3.9-4.7 ghz)-> Ps5 max ghz is 3.5 iirc and xbox one is 3.8. That's max. And they aren't water cooled or have 8 140 mm case fans.
GPU: Sapphire Nitro+ RX 5700 XT (most expensive part I bought)-> supposedly can run 4k @ 120 hz. I'll believe that when it happens.
Storage: Corsair MP600 NVME SSD 1TB -> this thing reads and writes data super fast. It about the size of a memory stick. Putting my OS on it. I gotta get a secondary ssd for data.
Memory: G. Skills Ripjaw 2x8 @ 3600 mhz -> might have to lower the 3600 to around 2800 initially. 3000 mhz plus is considered overclocking for my CPU.
PSU: Seasonic SSR-850FX Focus (850w)
CPU cooler: Fractal Designs Celsius+ S28 Dynamic-> works like a car radiator. Water pump, 2 140 mm fans and a radiator.
Exhaust fans: 4x Corsair A1425L 12S-2-> 140 mm fans, ~1000 rpm, ~65 CFM
Intake fans: 2x Fractal Dynamics Venturi HF-14-> ~1200 rpm, ~ 120 CFM. The AIO fans will also be intake fans.
I have this old Lite-on CD/DVD player/writer I pulled out of an old computer. Hope it works, guess we'll find out.

That's pretty much everything except some random stuff like a GPU brace to keep from damaging the board and some connectors. Some these GPU's are so big, they should come included with a brace. I mean my card is over double the size of the slot it plugs into, and it's just supposed to hang from it?

2 games I'm wanting to play on my PC is heavily modded Fallout 4 and Cities Skylines. I'm really good at Cities Skylines. It's like my crack. My ps4 pro just can't handle how big the maps are and all the moving parts. Both gpu and cpu get a little overloaded. Cities slows down to much to even really play. I have to game because I can't do much else. I'm not gonna list everything wrong with me, it would be longer than this post. Can't work and in a lot of pain so gaming gets me by day by day, waiting for answer in the future hopefully.

I would like to say thank you to Trump and Congress and the federal gov for my stimulus check, couldn't do it without you
Welcome to the club. I've been building desktop computers for several years. I search the web for parts, and I attend computer shows in Maryland for parts. The moment of truth comes when you press the ON button, and the computer works. I also load the operating systems, which LINUX is my favorite and it's open-source (free). You can't beat the price. LOL, I also use Microsoft when I can find a great price.
Good luck with your project.

If you look at my design thread, almost all of those designs are from this new computer. It fired up the first time. I just had issue with the board and weird USB compatibilities during install, my install went bunk initially so I got some help from a friend and got that figured out. I had to make my own flash drive and do it that way. I got windows 10 pro because I wanted to game too. It's not too bad, I just have it setup where it like never updates LOL. F*ck Windows AIDS downloads. Ugh

Is it a newer board?

Crosshair 8 Hero, or Crosshair Hero 8, or they should pick an easier name to call their boards. But I really like the board. People always complained about the chipset fan and the GPU and what not. Idk, I have 10 140mm case fans and a lot of air flow. All of my hard drives are PCIE 4.0 in the M2 slots, so there's zero obstruction of airflow in the case. The only thing in my giant case is the board and fans and the radiator, really. It's all open air with tons of air flowing through at a positive pressure.

This dual band antenna makes a huge difference in internet speeds for sure. It's in an awful position and far away from the router, by my speeds are still twice as fast as any other internet device here.

Been building custom computers from the ground up since 1986 when I was 10, back when you had to solder everything in. I've got Corsair enclosed water cooling systems that I know are past that 50,000 with no leaks or cooling issues. Just had to replace the fans is all which is what 10 bucks for a pair? Big deal.

My Fractal Designs pump is rated for 50,000 hours. I've never had a PC fail on me like that, so I just want to be able to notice it, if it ever happens.
