Computer building, I am

You have 12 cores right? The way ryzen is designed its not 12 on one chiplet. It's 2 8 core chiplets, and amd disabled 2 cores on each. Those chiplets aren't exactly identical, one will always be able to clock higher than the other. Your cpu over overclock is limited by the worst performing chiplet.

Nah 8 cores.

I'm channeling my inner redneck. Did this to channel all air into the radiator and keep air from blowing out around the radiator and being recycled back into it. You can't see any of this, it's behind the front filter face:

Getting familiar with GPU temps. Running really high graphics on Fallout 4. I've been running GPU metrics while I'm playing the game, so I can see what all is going on with the GPU. So I've been watching the junction temperature. It's gotten up to 70C. Supposedly it can run up to 110C! That's really really hot. So I thought 70C was getting a little hot for the junction, but I guess not. It doesn't seem to go much above that. The GPU temps stay around 60C or so. I do have a fairly strong fan curve game going on. I'd much rather burn fans out then burn equipment up. So I'll see how it does. Really liking the GPU so far. Game looks great. No lag. I can spin around in circles like a maniac, and I think the GPU is making fun of me.

I had the very first Crosshair motherboard Asus made back in 2008 I think. The board died less than 2 years later and it was the last AMD based comp I built. Wasn't the first time a amd/via chipset took a dump on me. I still have not finished the one I'm using right now and it's already getting old but I'm not into gaming as much as I was. Seems like I can't get immersed in newer games.

Only read the first page of this thread but computer building was something I wanted to do before spending $600 to replace a graphics card in a mac tower then eventually "cooking" a board oven-style to reflow the defective g card in my pre-intel macbook. Dumpster dove for a vizio TV around the same time that got tossed for no audio output. Had a spare cap in a junk CRT lying around in my apt. Still can hardly solder, but that TV has been kicking for 7 years. I knew right then I should invest into a computer that needs very little maintenance, so here I am with a mid-2012 macbook pro kickin it strong. My fav hardware would be nvidia graphics and samsung ssd. Flew sharply off the curve (-28dB) to even know how the intel macs in boot camp supported the PC gaming community. I'm too old now to learn and retain.

I have RDR2 and mine eats it up! :D I run it maxed and have no issues. Cyberpunk 2077 I think is even more taxing then RDR2. I haven't played RDR2 in a couple of months since I beat the SP aspect of it.

I played it alot on Xbox but decided to start over on PC. Settings on medium I can sit at 60fps but in PVP with explosions or in cities my FPS drops to 48-50 at times. I figured I would go to a 3060ti this year but after seeing it only averaging 60FPS on ultra settings I might have to look into a 3070. From the videos I have seen the 3070 averages 70fps on ultra settings at 1080p

I plan on going to the 3070 super when it comes out later this year. RDR2 is a taxing game no doubt. I also run a 32" LG 2k Monitor with G-Sync which also improves the graphics a lot as well. Nice thing is though a lot of Freesync monitors now support Nvidia G-Sync just not the full amount though.

I was wondering about that. All the monitors that I like end up being Freesync. Like the Gigabyte G27F.
