I have a 1997 GMC single cab truck that I already have 2 12" Audiobahn AW121T's and a Audiobahn A2502DP amp pushin them.. THe head unit is a Clarion Pro Audio DXZ945MP... I know am looking to upgrade my stock door speakers that are 6.5 components... I listen to very fast and heavy metal music.. I am wanting the best sound for my money... I am no pro and will not be in any contests... $250 MAX!!!

Also what would be a good amp in the same price range to push them??? I live in an area that you cant just go out and listen to them...

What I have seen in my price range...

Audiobahn ACIS62

Alpine

Infinity Perfect 6.1

CDT???

FOCAL

i recommend the focal polyglass 165v2s also. i had them and loved em. just be careful sending them a good amount of power and make sure your crossovers are set properly. i damaged my mids by burping at 51hz lol. They bottomed out and they rub now. as long as the crossover is set right, you have nothing to worry about.

How should the crossovers be set??? I am a total newbie to this...

I would run either an Orion 600.2 or a sound stream 600.2, or you could co cheaper...

THat is not going to be too much power is it??? I read the nominal power is 75watt and the max power of 150 watts... THe heck if I know!!!

Also do you think I would be better off getting a differant brand amp other than audiobahn to push my two audiobahn 12" AW121T subs... I already have the subs just not an amp at the moment...

Use a DMM and set your gains..
Or you could run the Soundstream 400.2.. thats a clean 100x2 @4ohm

Whats a DMM??? Would it be better to get an amp that is rated over and adjust the gain accordingly or an amp with less and crank the gain???

Better to have an amp that is rated higher than speakers ratings.

If your amp is rated lower you'll never get the full potential of the speakers. And if you crank up the volume you could clip the amp and kill your speakers. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif
