comp set up

if u mean the speaker and tweeter...then there isn't any thing that u should worry about...but if that the case i would recommend a crossover with the comps

i have a set of alpine type r comps in the front. i just got a free set of comps which fit in the back of my car and i only have one amp that is used for the type r's and i wanted to know if i could power the comp set i got for rear fill in the back from the same amp.

Yes, if run the speaker lines from the amp to the xovers in parrallel.

IE-split the positive out to each Xover input(same with negative). This is assuming you have the passive Xovers.

Power will increase from your amp when you do this as an amps power output will increase when you lower the ohm load presented to it.

you mean like option #1 in kinda?http://www.crutchfieldadvisor.com/learningcenter/car/subwoofers_wiring.html?subs=4&impedance=SVC4

You will run into serious staging issues. The sensitivity of the comps will control how loud each set is. And most likely the free set will get louder with less power, so your stage is going to get yanked backwards, and that won't be able to be corrected.

i was just wanting to run the mid bass woofer in the back for some extra thump until i get my amp for my subwoofers.

Option 1 is what was talking about yes.

As for what nosaj070 said, you may indeed be dissapointed with the results, but what the hell! give er a try see how it sounds.

if your comps are 4 ohms, your amp will operate at 4 ohms. However, if you hook up another set of comps to the amp it will run at 2 ohms and double its power output. well not double but go up substantially.

However the problem with this is that you wont be able to fade your rear speakers

cool well just another thought came into my mind. i'll try out the comps see how they sound and possbly buy another amp for them and put them in kicks in da front. dose that sound like a better idea>?
