I have a yellow top battery and dual terminal does it matter if I hook it up to the spare terminal or does it have to go where the alternator is

so from what i gather from the info presented before me, you hook positive wire to any positive terminal on battery.

Sorry about the confusion may be this is clearer. Bat. has top and side terminals.

As for the dual terminals, they are just for ease of installation, so you don't need to connect a bunch of stuff on just one terminal.
