He is using the bass boost on the amp where you can select a certain freq range called "Q" on the slash amps then he is upping or lowering that freq range to his likings. Since he has two amps he can set them seperately. They call it an EQ but it is a adjustable "boost". It probably does sound good but it also sounds like it was alot of work and all you had to do was add another 10 and work your pararmetric eq on those 5 10 inch subs to get them to sound like you wanted.

there ya go i'm up to 3 good responsed you make threads a better place! yeah you are right it could be my imagination but i thought it sounded fuller and more equal with the 13 handling the lower part than 10's

i'm also trying to find a more advanced sound level reader the one i currently have only reads up to 120dB and i can easily hit that at half volume

Because you are wrong and ill-informed. Many, and i do mean alot, of the people on this forum are hard core competitors that spend most of their waking hours on their systems, either researching or tuning.

They are the best of the best.

doubt it you know of course decibles increase exponentially in mulitiples of 10, not fractionally in percentages... so basically every time you go up a decible it gets 10 times harder to go up another

ok you stated in your last post that you have differing peak frequencies for the 10's and 13. So just to put some numbers to help illustrate the point the 13 play up to 80hz and the 10s play up to 100hz. So up to 80hz they both are playing the same frequencies. this page is somehwhat helpful explaining

I would try and make one certain sub size be efficient at certain frequencies. The 13 be playing 53hz and down, the 10's playing the frequencies between 60hz and 125hz or so, those are just examples. i still would be interested in seeing this, from what i see you get 15 or 16v from the alty by what you say and don't see any extra batteries or what else, using sony or Jl amps on the subs, haven't seen anything to power the comps and nothing else in regards to your setup or something to crossover the subs to avoid cancellation and make it sound a whole lot better. but i might have to meet up and see this.

yes upgraded alt. and big capacitor... the capacitor doesn't help with much but stiffening

That's a forum bandwagon here I have noticed.....the spec enclosures sound excellent IMO.
