Acustic Engineers Please Advise.

A friend and Me got bored and Built a box that can be Sealed or Ported at the flip of a switch.

We designed and installed a motor drive that can close or open the port from inside the box. The only thing needed is to hook-up power the motor drive system "Signal Wire and Ground"

We tested it to make sure it did not leak air or vibrate when closed. It seems to work fine. We will test it over the next few months as well.

Question is, What else should we look for other then freq test?

mmm..I would love to help, but I am unsure of the question? If you looking to find/or figure out the tuning freq, you can buy some expensive equipment (like a spectrum analyzer) or do it the poor mans way by playing test tones while monitoring the driver movement. As you get closer to the tuning freq the driver will have very little movement.

Sounds like the Blazer that Speaker Warehouse won the IASCA world final with 5 years running. Box volume was adjustable along with changing from sealed to ported all with the flip of a switch.

Didn't know that someone else did that.

He got bored and asked what if. So we broke a old box open and started looking at how to make it air tight. We made some molds, Then used Zytel to make the system out of.

It still working after beating it to death.

No problem. The Dayton ultimax is one of the better sounding sealed subs I’ve heard. I kinda want to try the 18 in my ride.
